Thanksgiving Day

By Amanda Spannbauer · Comments (0)

thanksgiving group

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who showed up for the Thanksgiving workout! We had a blast while playing a huge game of CrossFit baseball with 44 people (2X as many as we had for our labor day workout)! We are thankful to have the opportunity to work with all of you and to have spent some time with our family at CrossFitCHF. Happy Thanksgiving!

Why do most people stop exercising; not enough energy, no time, not enough money, not getting the desired results anticipated by the marketing material of the facility? Most people will say it is because exercise is boring and monotonous.

National fitness statistics show that 80% of gym members stop going to their gym of choice after only 6 weeks of exercise and rarely return to a exercise program. CrossFit has proven to break this fitness statistic. At our gym, 80% or greater of individuals that do CrossFit for 6 weeks continue to train with CrossFit methods. What makes it different from the normal industry fitness standard? My theory, and it is not proven by recognized academic or scientific research at this time, is because it is FUN! The video clip below will indicate what happens when you make a boring and monotonous, albeit necessary, task fun. If you are sick and tired of being sick and tired, come try our Elements of CrossFit class at 4:45 PM Monday through Friday. and learn to make beautiful music with your body. :-)

What is CrossFit?

By Amanda Spannbauer · Comments (0)

CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning program that is designed to elicit as broad an adaptation phyhsical response as possible. CrossFit is not a specialized fitness program but rather it focuses on competency in each of the ten recognized fitness domains; cardiovascular and respiratory endurace, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy. Our athletes are trained to successfully perform multiple, diverse and randomized physical challenges.
